Hello, September!
I hope your August went well. Mine, no surprise, just went by in a flash. Although I spent most of my August working, I give myself a pat on the back for balancing it with weekends that were wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable.
Since August here in my country is still a monsoon month, much like July, I planned indoor activities during the weekends. I enrolled in a watercolor basics workshop with Play Crafts Ph, where I finally dusted off my brushes, watercolor paper and pans. Heading to the workshop I was initially nervous as I’m quite rusty. I’m so glad our teacher Beth, guided us through the foundations of watercolor painting. We first practiced painting our own color wheel, then we tried the different techniques like the wet-on-dry, wet-on-wet, dry brush, layering and glazing. Finally, we painted a sunset scene, and I lost track of time chatting with the other participants while working on my painting. That workshop motivated me to set aside time for painting as it was a meditative experience.

Yesterday, I met up with a girlfriend from university days and we checked out the Big Bad Wolf book sale at Alabang, located at Metro Manila’s south. I intended to enjoy the company of my friend, but I ended up buying three books to add to my ever growing to-read list. I can never resist buying books (or e-books), and I really should go back to reading books before bedtime instead of watching social media videos. I hope I can start doing that more – I started last night!

That sums up my weekend highlights of August. Although I did not get to travel for leisure last month, the indoor activities and catch-up dates with friends were a refreshing change.
How did your August go?
