Throwback Travel: Shinjuku Gyoen National Park

Konnichiwa!

My mind takes me back to the green oasis in the middle of the city – to Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. Our first attempt to check it out was in 2010, but sadly it was an epic fail as we then discovered it was closed on Mondays. Good thing when we were back in Shinjuku in October 2016 we were finally able to explore this beautiful garden. This was really one of my top priority places to go to on our couple of nights’ stay in Shinjuku, and to date this stands as my most favorite parks in Tokyo, hands down.

Back then, entrance fee was 200 yen per person. There were English guide leaflets at the entrance which was quite helpful.

Luckily, it was a warm, sunny day at the time. We could spend hours here!
