Long days seated in front of my computer since work from home began always result to muscle pains on my neck and shoulder. Last year I had a scare as I was waking up in the wee hours of the morning with a bad headache, that I consulted a neurologist and had some tests done. I found that it’s muscle strain and mostly because of my posture and lifestyle.
To remind myself to get up and stretch and do a bit of exercise every once in a while D bought me a small stair climber, and I remind myself to get up and play ball with my dog every top of the hour. On weekends, I’ve been frequenting the spa for a shoulder massage. So far, the best that I’ve gone to lately is the Nurture Wellness Village Spa in Tagaytay. I’ve heard about this place from a former colleague almost two decades ago when she always raved about it. So I didn’t hesitate when I found a promo offerred by Klook, and immediately booked myself a Hilot Kagalingan package, a 60-minute Filipino traditional massage that uses hot banana leaves. I was lucky when it came with a free 30 minute foot massage. Best deal ever!
We were welcomed by the staff and D and I headed to our own little huts. I booked him a 60-minute foot massage called Dagaday. His little hut was open air, and looked very relaxing as it was in the midst of trees. My room was cozy and spacious and the temperature and the lighting was just right. I asked my masseuse to focus on my shoulders, and I savored the hour as she skillfully kneaded through my knots.
Though it’s a bit of a drive from home, I’m glad we got the chance to do some pampering at Nurture Wellness. I hope we can do it again soon!
