From Old Town Strolls to Seaside Cycles

Our last morning in Hoi An was relaxed and unplanned. We had no itinerary and no rush, just a few quiet hours before our noon transfer. D and I walked around Hoi An Old Town one last time before leaving. The yellow buildings looked bright in the early morning sun, bicycles passed by, and merchants started opening their shops. It was a nice, simple way to end our stay.

While walking past souvenir and tailor shops, I found a small dress shop and bought a couple of linen tops. They were light and comfortable, and I thought they would be nice additional pieces to bring home from Hoi An.

For brunch, we went to MadamNga Restaurant, a spacious place with good service and tasty food. I ordered the Hoi An Pancake. One of the staff, Chau, showed us how to prepare and roll it in rice paper with fresh herbs. It was helpful to see how it’s properly assembled before eating.

We also tried Che khuc bach and Che hat sen for dessert. Both had a light sweetness that wasn’t overpowering, which we liked. It was a nice way to end our meal in Hoi An.

After brunch, we went back to the hotel, packed our things, and met our driver for the trip to Da Nang. We checked in at BlueSun Hotel, which is located along the road facing My Khe Beach.

We arrived just in time for afternoon tea and went up to the rooftop restaurant. The view of the beach was nice, with waves rolling in under the afternoon light.

Unlike my previous stay in Da Nang with my girlfriends in 2024, this time our room had a partial beach view. This was a nice improvement.

After tea, we borrowed bicycles from the hotel and rode along the beach. I loved how the wind blew on my face. The weather was kind. It was not hot nor humid.

After cycling, D and I caught up with our thousand steps as we walked to the Dragon Bridge. We took in the view and snapped some photos.

Dinner was at Hải sản Mộc quán Đà Nẵng, where we had reserved seats. The restaurant was busy, and the seafood was fresh and tasty with generous portions. The staff helped deshell the prawns, and we enjoyed sweet, fresh coconut juice with our meal.

For dessert, we went to Lapin Bakery and shared a walnut roll, a simple sweet treat to end the day.

We returned to the hotel full and tired but satisfied. Our last day in Hoi An transitioned smoothly into our first evening in Da Nang. We spent the day enjoying bicycles, beach views, and a relaxed pace. We’re excited to what the next day would bring.

Very interesting post. That food looks amazing – shrimp/prawns are my favourite food. I love the video of the very spacious hotel room.
