Scenes from Makati

Today’s post is a little different.

I realized I don’t always need a full story to share something meaningful. Sometimes it is just about noticing what is already around me. So instead of a long write-up, I am sharing a few snapshots from my city. These are weekend scenes I pass by but don’t always stop to appreciate.

Friends, this is my neighborhood in Makati, Philippines.

Gorgeous! I’ve yet to visit the Philippines some day, but these photos are enticing me to go sooner than later! Thanks for sharing a slice of your life in Makati 🙂

I hope you get to visit someday. If you are a city person I recommend Makati or Taguig (close to the airport). If you are more into nature (beaches, mountains) we have thousands of islands to explore 😀

Mrs W, are you based in Makati? That was where we stayed when we were there a few months back. Oh, so now I am missing it so much more.

I am 😀 though sometimes we stay at the suburbs near the airport. When you visit again hopefully we can have tea in the city

Thank you for the kind words. We are thankful to have a good and convenient neighborhood in this city, but nothing beats our home garden in the suburbs.

Thank you for sharing, and the trip down memory lane with this post! No idea if I mentioned this in a prior comment on your blog, but there was a time when I would walk from Ateneo’s Salcedo campus, traversing H.V. Dela Costa and turning right at Makati Avenue.

I’d go straight along that route, passing by ATG and Blackbird (the former Nielson Tower) before taking the Legazpi underpass — landing at the PLDT offices and Greenbelt. From there, I would often check out the commercial complex before taking the northbound MRT via SM Makati (the Intercion was still around at the time haha).

Also, I’d like to share if you’re interested: there’s an event to be held at the Gardens this coming weekend (May 16 to 17), at the Paseo De Roxas side. It’s a French gastronomy event sponsored by the French Embassy in Manila. 🙂

Wow! You remember your route well. And now Im reminded of Intercon (One Ayala made me forget it was once there).
I will check out the French Gastronomy. Last weekend there was an event on beers.

I love peeking into neighbourhoods (as you know) and I am so happy to have a glimpse into yours. The view from your roofdeck is stunning – what a skyline! And those green spaces in the city – lovely!

Thanks Ju-Lyn! I’m glad you enjoyed the glimpse. It was my first time to go up the roofdeck that night as I wanted to see the full moon. I didnt realize til then that the view there can be nice at night.
