Siem Reap 2013: Photo Diary

Hi friends. This week’s blog is a throwback to before I started blogging.

In 2013, D and I went to Siem Reap with friends for a short temple getaway. We took an evening flight from Manila via Cebu Pacific, a quick 2.5-3 hour hop that got us to Cambodia by night.

We stayed at Shining Angkor Hotel. It was simple and homey, and the room was big and comfortable. I don’t have photos of the hotel but what I remember is it had a lot of wooden furniture.

Over the next couple of days we explored several temples, including the breathtaking Angkor Wat. We also had a chance to drive through the countryside. We had a private tour which made everything easy and unhurried.

It was a simple trip, but one that still stands out in photos and memories. Speaking of photos, these are the ones I keep looking back to.

Lovely! Thanks for sharing a throwback: I’ve yet to visit Siem Reap (let alone Cambodia), but it’s high on my bucket list of places to go to sooner than later. Looking forward to seeing more throwback posts from you!

Oh! I’m so jealous! I’ve always wanted to go to Angkor Wat, but my migraines stop me from getting on a plane – but my lovely daughter went there last year and took lots of photos for me! It really is such an amazing place – so well captured! thanks for sharing! Linda xx

Glad you liked them. I’m sorry your migraines make flying difficult, but how wonderful your daughter was able to experience Angkor Wat and share it with you through her photos. It truly is a spectacular place.
