First time I stayed in NYC was 2014, D and I hardly had time to explore the city, and sadly we didn’t even get the chance to check out the New York Public Library, save for a photo shoot at its front steps. Good thing second time’s a charm – and we were able to stay once again in NYC in 2019. Before meeting up with our cousin for a dinner cruise along the Hudson River, I had about an hour to walk around Grant Park (which was packed with people lounging around that warm Saturday afternoon) and actually go in the New York Public Library this time.
Though my visit was short, I was glad to have seen the place up close – compared to just seeing bits of it from scenes of movies like Sex and the City, and The Day After Tomorrow. My favorite part of the New York Public Library was this – which I found at the third floor. It is called McGraw Rotunda, and I spent a few minutes gazing up its ceilings and admiring the wall murals.
