I can’t believe the cooler months are saying goodbye for now. I thought we still have a couple if weeks in February, but these past two days have been hot here in Metro Manila. During the months of December through February, a trip to Tagaytay or Baguio is highly sought after by folks like me in Metro Manila, because these tourist destinations have cooler climates. When I say cooler, I mean around 25 degrees Celsius (or 77 degrees Fahrenheit). It’s a good time for us to put our thicker clothes to use. Aside from my recent bout with the omicron variant, what’s holding us off on a trip to Tagaytay, which is less than two hours’ drive from our home, is the heavy traffic to and from Manila. On weekends, most especially, roads are more congested, simply because the demand is high.
Good thing D and I were able to squeeze in a quick overnight trip to Tagaytay, Cavite a week ago. Quite impromptu, actually. D had a morning meeting there, and I tagged along convincing him to make the most of the drive by checking in for the night. Coincidentally there was a highly rated room In AirBnB that was available for that day, and the host was nice enough to accommodate our last minute request for booking.
When we arrived to our room, this was what greeted us: a breathtaking view of Taal Volcano and Taal Lake. This sight never gets old.
We woke up to a thick fog followed by a slight drizzle. It was so surreal because when we checked our cctv, back home was all bright and sunny. Before checking out, I enjoyed a good hot cup of coffee. I made a mental note to book for a longer stay in Tagaytay at least some time within this year.
Overall, our stay was comfortable, relaxing, and was truly worth it. Perhaps next time when we stay longer we can visit the Museo Orlina, and cycle around town. Fingers crossed.
